Darky and Moody Christmas Themed Wedding

And just like that, we’re now moving towards the end of the year! While the holiday season is normally all about red and green, a group of amazing vendors took a detour and created a non-traditional, dark, and moody Christmas themed wedding. This is a perfect inspiration for couples looking to celebrate their holiday wedding in a uniquely elegant way. Thanks to Star Noir Studio for sharing with us this excellent work!

Darky and Moody Christmas Themed Wedding

Down To The Nitty-Gritty

I came up with the idea for this during another styled shoot and brainstormed with a vendor who dropped out at the last moment. I was lucky enough to have a great relationship with an amazing stylist/coordinator, Lindsay with Custom Love Gifts, Events, and Prints, and she was willing to come on last minute and completely rework the shoot from the ground up making it even better than it would have been originally!

We got the dark art deco wedding dress from amazon for a steal at around $50, and it looked fantastic on our model paired with a simple, long black veil. The dress was so beautiful that it didn’t need jewelry to enhance it. Our model, Kelli’s natural beauty was enhanced by Amanda and Crystal with Southern Sirens who chose a simple old Hollywood wave style for the hair and a dark, striking makeup palette. We ordered a moonstone ring from a sweet Etsy shop as a beautiful alternative to diamonds.

Nick with Vital Events joined us to prepare a specialty cocktail for the event that was as tasty as it was beautiful. Echelon Florist put together a gorgeous bouquet along with something I had never seen before – a floral pocket square. They also decorated some lovely black candelabras  and provided us with additional loose florals to incorporate into Chapel in the Hollow’s faux florals for the chapel.

Lindsay created a hot cocoa charcuterie board to complement the cocoa mug favors to pair with the black red velvet cake from Publix. Millstone Crafted created an invitation with a mystical feel, a recipe for a Yule prosperity jar, and a faux tarot card style table number (the 4 of trees) to complete the look.
