Comfort in Style

I totally love this wedding because its details were DIY and a little bit rustic, but the elegance is still present throughout the day. Weddings like that make things more comfortable but without sacrificing style and glamour. I specially loved their cake in sky blue ombre, it so refreshing to look at. Another thing worth mentioning is our couple’s and their entourage’s stylish ensembles. The gray and blue matched nicely for the bridesmaids and groomsmen. Then our bride wore a beautiful strapless gown with a sweetheart neckline – she looked so glowing. Anyway, congratulations on your wedding day, Danielle & Parker!

Bride

My dress designer is Mori Lee. I bought it at Candice’s Bridal shop in Springfield, IL. The bridesmaids dresses are from Coralie Beatrix (an Etsy designer). The groom was in a light gray Egara suit while the groomsmen’s were in charcoal Egara suits from Men’s Wearhouse. Emily Long styled my hair (from Cozmo’s Hair Studio in Bloomington, IL) My cake was done by Janet’s Cakes & Catering Bloomington, IL

I was born and raised in Normal, IL while Parker was born in Missouri and moved to Bloomington, IL when he was young. We had been together for a little over 2 years and living together for 1 year.Started planning about a year in advance by booking most of the vendors but mostly spent just the last month and a half after work for a few hours every couple days buying decorations, painting old window frames, and putting things together. It was a challenge to realize that I couldn’t please everyone and then getting the guts to speak up for myself (something I don’t typically do). I think the highlight of my day was when we took pictures right after the ceremony as husband and wife and when we had our first dance to Ed Sheeran’s “Thinking out Loud”.

The thing I remember most about our day was the moment he turned around at our “first look” and my bundle of nerves just went away and I knew I was where I needed to be.We honeymooned in Palm Springs, CA.

I bought the bridesmaid’s gifts from a small Chinese store that sold silk robes I saw and fell in love with. Parker bought his groomsmen alligator skin shoes he found through an online retailer. My engagement ring is custom from Roger’s & Holland, my blue and white diamond “something new” ring was from Roger’s & Hollands, my “something borrowed” bracelet was from the store manager, my “earrings” were custom wedding gauges from “Someday soon jewelry” shop on Etsy, and my “something old” was the larger oval ring from my Grandmother who passed away the year before.
