Our bride and groom wanted an effortless wedding day and they achieved that while maintaining the elegance of the event. It felt as if everything was prepared and executed comfortably and smoothly and because of that, the focus was all on our couple who just wanted to finally be wedded together in front of the most important people in their lives. Their photographer even shared that our bride didn’t want to go through all the trouble of preparing but can we all just agree that she just looked so stunning in simplicity! Congratulations Elizabeth and Nathaniel!

Here’s what their photographer shared with us about the happenings of the day…

What would you say, the overall story for this album?

This couple wanted an effortless day. Not too many details and were very old school in that everything ended by 5PM. The Ceremony was at 11:30 and she didn’t have a big fuss about hair, flowers, etc. she just wanted to marry Nathaniel. I loved that this wedding was more traditional in that everything was much earlier in the day and it was a big party with friends and family instead of a big to-do about the whole day.

What inspired the wedding day outfits?

Elizabeth and Nathaniel really wanted the day elegant but casual so the girls wore tea length dresses and the guys perfectly complimentary grey suits.

What was your favorite part of the day?

I loved the portrait part of the day. For such a short time that we spent together there was A LOT of time set aside for pictures and they even broke tradition a little and did a first look in the church before all the guests arrived so we could do some portraits at the church as well as at the Reception location. We were then able to leave immediately after the ceremony to head to the reception. And I was surprised at how well Nathaniel cooperated as he (in his own words) HATES taking pictures and found it all very awkward. Well, he did great and he looks fabulous in the pictures too.

Was there any Do it Yourself (DIY) projects? If so, can you describe them in detail?

Not as in themselves but there was a lot of family and friends help pitching in for the day. The cake was made by a friend as were the flower arrangements.

What were the highlights from the ceremony & reception?

I loved the exit of the ceremony. For a lot of weddings, the bride and groom are so into seeing everyone as they walk down the isle and I love that they took a minute and looked at each other.

What part of the ceremonies do you think was the most memorable for the bride and groom? Guests?

The homily was very special and personal for the bride and groom as they both knew the minister for some time and he was able to incorporate some personal remarks of his experiences with the couple.
