Rustic Wedding in Blue

This beautiful rustic wedding in blue is just filled with details that we’re sure you’ll love. Our bride wore a beautiful gown with lace sleeves that were absolutely stunning on her. Her bridesmaids wore blue cocktail dresses with matching bouquets that were unique to each one. The ceremony was held in the sunny outdoors where the altar was adorned by a pretty arch made with twigs and flowers. The rest of the details, such as the rustic wedding cake, the tables, the popcorn bar (yes, a POPCORN bar), are all noteworthy because of its rustic but lovely appearances. Congratulations Katie & Wesley!

Bride

What is your story as a couple, how did you meet & fall in love?

We met through mutual friends but once we started a conversation we knew instantly that we were the right one for each other. After shortly dating for about 3 months Wes proposed at Stone Mountain and I said yes right away.

What makes the two of you a perfect match?

We’re complete opposites so we always keep each other on their feet.

How did he (or you) propose?

We had a picnic at Stone Mountain and after eating we went walking on a trail and he pulled out the ring and proposed.

How long was the planning process? Did you think it was enough time?

I had a year to truly plan and I didn’t hire a wedding planner but push come to shove and I pulled it off I think it was enough time.

What was the best advice you received when you were planning your wedding?

If something goes wrong to not worry because usually the guests will never know something went wrong.

What tips & tricks (can we use “hacks”?) can you share future brides that you yourself have learned during and after your wedding?

Get a good photographer & videographer, you’re wedding day will go by so fast and you want to rememberthose special moments.

What were some challenges you faced while planning your wedding & what did you do to address them?

I wanted old rustic vintage decor so I had to shop all around to find the items I really wanted, a lot of antique shopping.

What inspired your wedding décor? Why did you choose the things that you did?

I’ve always loved vintage decor and we both wanted an outdoor rustic wedding.

What was the wedding budget?

$15,000

Where did you save the most money?

We saved a lot of money not hiring a wedding planner and just hired a day of coordinator.

What was the biggest expense?

Photography & Videography but so worth the money

How many guests were invited in your wedding and what was the final guest count?

We had an invite list of 150 and the final count was 100 guests.

How did you narrow down your list?

We only invited close family and close friends.

What songs did you use during the ceremony?

Somewhere over the rainbow (processional), Stand by Me (bridal party), 1000 years (brides entrance), hallelujah (Recessional)

Where did you go on your honeymoon?

Punta Cana, Dominican Republic – Dreams Punta Cana Resort

What are you most excited about for the future?

What we can build together

Do you have advice for couples still in the planning process?

Plan your wedding how you want it not how anybody else would like to see it.
