Hello, ladies! Today’s feature is a stunner! Thirty (yes, you read that right!) amazingly talented global vendors collaborated on this bespoke luxury styled wedding. Think about what you need to pull off an elegant wedding, it’s all here! This shoot was into two parts – the first featuring the color combo emerald, gold, and white. The second part focused on the Asian Fusion themed set up with a variety of colors. The model bride was strikingly beautiful in her simple yet sophisticated on her Caroline Castigliano designer wedding dress. The groom didn’t disappoint and looked fab on his black Ahsan’s suit. And what better way to pull off a grand wedding than arriving in lux cars as Mercedes GTC and Ferrari F12! Honestly, we are still swooning over the details of this shoot. Glittery Winter Wedding

Not a lot of couples want to go out in the freezing cold on their wedding day but today’s featured bride and groom are different! Sarah specifically wanted snow on her wedding day and it didn’t disappoint. She and Stephen headed out for snow-filled photos and yes, as the song goes – the cold never bothered them, anyway. Their pictures turned out beautiful, dramatic, and bold. As for their wedding details, we particularly love the floral arrangement along the stairs. They went for navy and rose gold, with pops of red and lilac, which are among the pick of the bunch when going for an elegant winter wedding. Other elements like the wedding cake, bouquets, and the bridesmaids’ dresses are worth noting too. With everything, they got just the perfect amount of glamour and glitz!

The best thing I did for my wedding was hiring Robb as our photographer. From the start, he was professional and so easy to work with. I find myself constantly looking at the pictures he took of our wedding because I simply can’t get enough of them. He gave us timeless, gorgeous wedding pictures and I will never be able to thank him enough for that!

Finding the Perfect Dress, According to Your Body Type

From mermaid to tea-length, there are way too many gown types for brides to find that beautiful dress to walk down the aisle in. The easiest way to go about the search for “the one” is by shopping according to your body type, which is pretty much the cardinal rule when choosing your wardrobe, although you’ll be surprised at how rare women do so, or even know which category or two they fall under. Some have been graced with body shapes that can virtually look good in any dress and neckline, but in reality, that’s only a small percentage of us.

Here at Elegant Wedding, we previously introduced the different dress silhouettes and touched upon the shapes that each gown style would complement, and here we’ll be discussing what you should specifically be looking for with your body type.

Petite

If you’ve got a smaller frame, you’ll need a dress that will elongate your body, as anything body hugging will make you look leaner than you desire. Opt for toga-like sheaths with unbroken lines, as shown on Glamour, but if you want to accentuate your curves, go for a dress with a raised waist for more length.

Pear-Shaped

When in doubt, an A-line will trim the waist and dial back on the bottom heavy aspect. In order for the skirt to float away from your hips and thighs, you’ll need to go for sturdier fabrics that won’t cling onto your skin, such as taffeta.

Tall

In this case, you don’t want to look larger than your actual height, or appear as though your dress was borrowed from someone shorter than you. Real Simple says that simplicity is key here in silhouette and embellishments, which can take away from the elegance of a longer dress.

Busty

Create a balance in curves by looking for a body-hugging bodice attached to a skirt that just skims the body. For extra security, a dress with boning and a dropped waist, like a corset, will give you the proper support and keep everything in place.

Apple-Shaped

You want to give the illusion of curves, so anything cinched at the waist and gradual transitions into an A-line silhouette will be best, avoiding any trumpet styles, as they will widen your bottom half. In terms of neckline, you should go for halter because it looks extra flattering with a gathered waist, examples of which can be seen on a variety of items put together by the style editors at Lyst, an online fashion retailer that also supplies alternative wedding dresses.

Wedding gowns vary in shapes and silhouettes, but not all are equally appealing to every bride’s figure. Check out the different shapes below and find out which dress shape will give you the best look.

A-Line

This is the most popular choice for brides. As the name suggests, this style is narrow at the top and extends out along the body in the shape of an A in an elongated and smooth line. For an extra slim look, try a ruffle or a pleat that falls diagonally across the skirt – just like the one shown in the photo above.

Dropped waist

This dress drops and flares out few inches below the natural waistline around your hip area. This style lengthens the torso but it cuts off your legs, therefore it flaunts the middle part of your body. If you’re leggy, this is a beautiful choice.

Ball gown

The ball gown style is known by its distinctive full skirt and fitted bodice. This style can give you curves if you have a boyish figure. It also looks well if you are tall.

Mermaid

This shape is defined by a tapered, curve-hugging and slim skirt that follows the line of the hips and thighs. Unlike the dropped waist shape that cuts off your legs, this shape flares out just below the knee. Want to show off your curves? This is the best choice to pick.

Trumpet

Often confused with mermaid-shaped wedding dresses, this is another route to go if you want to flaunt your curves. The difference is the straight-lined skirt gently flares starting at the knees toward the hem of a trumpet shape.

Sheath

For brides that are petite and have a sleek figure, this formfitting style is the right choice. It follows the body’s natural line and its slim silhouette visually adds height to small women. You can pair it with a floor-length veil to maximize the elongating effect.

Empire

This high-waisted style falls just below the bustline, de-emphasizing the waistline and hips. This wedding dress shape is the perfect trick if you want to look taller and leaner. This is also the perfect dress for rounded bodies looking to hide thicker middle.

Romance And Drama In Winter

A little warning before you look at the gallery; 1. You might see stunning and dreamy ball gowns; 2. You might want to get married ASAP; 3. You possibly couldn’t stop gazing at them. Yes, that is how beautiful these winter wedding dresses are. From the fabrics used down to the design, everything screamed winter and romance. Also adore the accessories, like using coats instead of veils for the non-traditional brides. Be prepared to swoon and awe.

I drew inspiration from the local setting of Ridgefield’s own Garden of Ideas community garden as inspiration for this organic bridal shoot. Each of the three dresses had hints of the ‘sauvage’ that played off of the natural vegetation surrounding the model. These ideas were reflected in the accessories, hair, and make-up. There were also elements of fantasy, and so my goal was to frame Brooke, the model, in these mirage-like frames with the light in my camera. Every bride I photograph is usually living out some of her biggest dreams in some way on her wedding day, and so with this shoot I was accentuating a dreamlike state. I also wanted to experiment with an idea that when her groom first sees her, the bride is like a precious jewel in the wilderness.
