Heed Her Advice

❤ Simplicity is a beautiful thing, especially when it comes to planning a wedding. The guests will enjoy the atmosphere, especially when they can sense that there isn’t a lot of stress surrounding the day!

❤ The best thing that my husband and I did was wake up the morning of our wedding with no worries in the world. We planned to enjoy every second without stressing and because of that attitude, we were amazed when we saw how our event came together and could really soak in all of the moments.

❤ Make sure you lay out your expectations of your vendors in advance. While I am sure they have worked many weddings prior to yours, they are not mind readers and may not know that you have your heart set on a certain photo op with your spouse or song played on the dance floor. Make those things known!

❤ Make sure that your guests get fed! Nothing is worse than going to a wedding and having to wait an hour longer than expected for dinner or to get to the buffet. Guests may not remember exactly what they ate (unless it’s truly spectacular), but they will remember if they left hungry!

It was indeed a magical moment as both the couple’s families and friends celebrated and helped with the wedding preparations. ❤ The bride and her mother, along with the groom worked very well together to custom design the invitations, cake, favors (monogrammed matchbooks and candle).

❤ The horse drawn carriage brought the bride and her father in to the ceremony site, then departed with the bride and groom for a quick ride and some quiet time together to enjoy.

❤ The bride did a “first look” with her father and brother, as well as the groom!

❤ Clay Thompson, Reverend who officiated the ceremony, spent many Saturday mornings with the couple to guide “pre marital counseling” as the couple joined together as one before God.

Candles can be amazing when used as aisle decor. We love the image above, from kellyhornberger.com, where dozens of candles have been placed in glass containers alongside fresh bouquets and used to line the aisle. The result is a wonderfully elegant and impressive display and a soft, romantic glow.

Using Candles to Light the Stairs

Another amazing idea is to use candles to light the stairs for a wedding. In the image above, from acharlestonbride.wordpress.com, hundreds of candles have been used on the stairs of the venue, with just the small path to the door left open. The effect is striking and very romantic.

Located in Republic Missouri at Peabody’s Farm, the ceremony took place in a secluded green area on an elevated platform in front of family and friends. The theme. Fall was in the air, and small touches were added to the decor. A color scheme filled with jewel tones and decor sprinkled with their own DIY touches (especially their love of University of Arkansas)!

The preparation. The couple took ballroom dance lessons leading up to their wedding and their first dance as husband and wife was amazing!

The reception. John and Paige had an outdoor reception under the stars and an oversized white reception tent surrounded by trees lit by shabby chic lighting. It gave a feeling of elegance in the middle of a field. The evening was lit up by hundreds of small clear lights and chandeliers hanging from the trees. The historic barn was used as the bar area and the gathering point for discussion of the big game.
